FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

EDMONTON, April 15, 2025–The (RAIC), in collaboration with Edmonton Public Library (EPL), is proud to announce the Architecture for Young Readers Project – Edmonton Edition. This initiative builds on the success of the 2022 launch in Halifax and aims to inspire young readers by introducing them to books on architecture, design, and the built environment.

This project will create an architecture-themed book collection, offering engaging, age-appropriate literature that fosters creativity and appreciation for architecture among children and teens.

The RAIC extends its gratitude to Ian Mulder, AAA, MRAIC, M.Arch, Chair of the RAIC Edmonton Network (Alberta Chapter) and Project Architect, Public Art Coordinator at the City of Edmonton, whose leadership and vision have been instrumental in advancing this initiative. To make this initiative possible, RAIC is calling on individuals and firms to sponsor books. Each $30 sponsorship will be matched by RAIC, doubling the impact and helping create a comprehensive and inspiring collection. Sponsors will also be recognized with a personalized bookplate in each book.

“Books have the power to shape young minds, and architecture is an essential part of our communities and culture,” said Cynthia Dovell, RAIC Regional Director Edmonton / Northwest Territories. “This initiative will give young readers in Edmonton access to books that fuel imagination and help them see the built world in a new way.”
